Early Learning Staff

Position Summary:
The YMCA is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Early Learning Teacher to help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for young children. This role focuses on nurturing social, emotional, and developmental growth through age-appropriate activities, play-based learning, and positive guidance. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, values teamwork, and believes in the YMCA’s mission of strengthening community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead age-appropriate lessons and activities that support early childhood development

• Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

• Supervise children at all times and follow YMCA safety procedures

• Encourage creativity, learning, and positive social interactions

• Communicate regularly with families about children’s progress and daily experiences

• Maintain a clean, organized classroom and learning space

• Work collaboratively with staff to support YMCA programs and events

Qualifications:

• Experience working with young children in a childcare or early learning setting

• Early Childhood Education coursework, CDA, or related degree preferred

• Strong communication and classroom management skills

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to pass required background clearances

• Passion for youth development and the YMCA mission
